Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in Guam and I am the youngest of six. I work a full time job as a dental receptionist. In my spare time, I manage my household, write, read, and sometimes I do nothing. I have to give myself a break at some point.
Share with us some of your interests
I I love to sing, play guitar, and watch t.v. shows. My top shows are Frasier, Downton Abby, New Girl, and The Office. I love going to the beach.
What makes you the person you are?
God has a huge part in who I am as well as my life experinces. However, I do consider my husband a huge part in who I am today. Let‘s just say I value his opinion in the highest regard.
About your writing;
When did you start writing?
I started writing seriously when I was sixteen years old. In fact, that was when I started my first novel called Kiss the Damsel. I was very much interested in writing romance and the book was very Pride and Prejudice. I take much pride in the fact that I finished the novel. It still requires much revision and editing, which I have yet to complete. However, I was also interested in writing children’s books and did a few here and there in high school.
What inspires you to write?
I think mainly what inspires me to write is
How has writing change you as a person?
Writing has not really changed who I am, but I can say that my writing has changed in the last few years. Writing is merely my way of sharing my ideas, thoughts, and creativity with others.
Adding some fun;
If you spend the rest of your life in a novel or novel series, what novel would it be and why?
The Chronicles of Narnia. This book is filled with wonder and adventure and there is never a dull moment. Everyone loves a magical story that takes you away from reality.
Share a couple of your favorite things and or things you like?
I like Macs and all apple products. This is where all my ideas and writing take place.
What couldn’t you live without?
I couldn’t live without my husband. I say this because I could verily live without “things.” I’m not the type to hold on to my iphone for dear life.
What do you look for in a publishing company as they will end up representing your work?
I am looking for someone who is willing to work with me. A publishing company that is open-minded and not afraid to take on a new project.
How do you stay confident in yourself especially by putting yourself out there in the internet world?
I tell myself to buck up and jump in because if I don’t do something about it, who else will? This helps me to stop hiding behind my shadow. If you look at my social network, you will see I have an author Facebook page, Twitter, Youtube, and a website where you can find all my information on me and my book. I am definitely putting myself out there!
How do you handle rejection? What advice can you offer to moving past it?
When I get the dreaded email that an agent/publisher is not interested in my work, I am disappointed for like two seconds and then I remember that I am not the only author competing for a spot in publishing. I know there are people who have different writing styles, who like certain genres, etc. So it is very important you read up on what they like and to try to find the agent/publisher who best fits your type of genre. Don’t give up. You never know until you try.
Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?
There is always self publishing! Knowledge is power! So read books similar to yours, research, and become knowledgable on all things that will lead you to getting your book published. Don’t be lazy! Get to work!

Tell us about your book [s]
I am now the author and illustrator of a new children’s picture book called Azyea’s Gifts. It is geared toward ages 3 and up. This book is about a little girl who tries to make a Mother’s Day gift for her mother but fails. In the end, her mother is very pleased that she tried her best.
What would you like readers to get from your book (s) ?
I would like readers to come away knowing that they don’t have to impress our loved ones with things, but to know that they are loved no matter what.
What do you to for marketing?
I post a status on Facebook and Twitter with the link to my book and help from friends on Facebook!
What are you working on now?
I working on a few picture books, but at the moment I am taking a break. However, the book I am working on is a princess book. It has some good literary elements so readers can get more out of it because it deals with sharing, friendship and the attitude of the heart.
