me 2013

About you;

Tell us about yourself. I currently work two jobs and I am hoping to eliminate the part time one so I can focus more on writing. I have been married to my wonderful husband since 2001. He is my biggest supporter. As much as I love writing and reading I am a TV addict. I love to watch my favorite shows and I can guarantee there is something on every night of the week and my shows have taken a back seat to my writing. I not your average bubbly person, I stick to myself alot and just watch the scene around me unfold, I listen to others and I am always inside my own head. I am a hopeless romantic and I have an old soul. I can usually be easily entertained.Share with us some of your interests My interests aside from writing and reading is music and TV. My husband has been known to call me a TV addict.

What makes you the person you are? The way I grew wasnt the best. Ive had some pretty tough years growing up and it has been far from easy. When I was younger I just made the decision that I would not be the person I statistically would be. My husband has been the greatest thing to happen to me. And he makes me want to be a person in general.

About your writing;
When did you start writing?
I’ve always been a writer off and on. But I have never had to the nerve to even finish the piece.

What inspires you to write?

Reading and real life inspires me. Sometimes it can be the smallest thing  and the thoughts will just take off in my head.

How has writing change you as a person?

I have learned so much in the last few months then I have ever known about writing, from my other author friends, and researching the industry
Adding some fun;

If you spend the rest of your life in a novel or novel series, what novel would it be and why?

The Dark Light series by SL Jennings. It has all the elements I enjoy. Romance, suspense, and a little mystery.

Share a couple of your favorite things and or things you like?

My favorite things are shopping, chocolate and most definitely reading.

What couldn’t you live without?

I can’t live without mascara and my kindle.

Is there a character that annoys you in the literacy world? Or even one of your own?

Yes but I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. It is a popular series and I couldn’t stand the female lead in it. I made myself read the first one but there was no way I was continuing on after that.

Advice;
What do you look for in a publishing company as they will end up representing your work?

What genre they represent, the clients they represent and making sure they are a reputable company. I would make sure I have the say in what I write.

How do you stay confident in yourself especially by putting yourself out there in the internet world?

Everyone has a story to tell and not everyone will love every story. And I think as long as I am happy with the finished product then I am confident to put it out there. But I know not everyone will love it and I go in knowing that.

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?

No matter what keep writing, as long as you have a story to tell. There will be haters and there will be lovers. Keep yourself surrounded by people that support you and join any reading or writing groups is helpful as well. And you need to know that Google is your friend (for researching purposes).

Featuring your work and or upcoming work;

Tell us about your book [s]

It is a new adult romance.

Maura is a twenty three year old who is still coping with her parents’ sudden death two years ago. She recently graduated from college and now has her own catering business. A best friend-roommate who has been there through it all and helps make life manageable. Until her first love Pierson Hammer comes walking back into her life. Pierson has demons of his own, after serving in the military for five years. Tormented from his past and present. he comes home hoping to make amends with Maura. Can Maura forgive Pierson for leaving her all those years ago? Can she trust him with her future? Will she open herself up completely?

Who is your favorite character and why? [If you can share without spoiling your work]

Ruby because she is spunky and says exactly what she thinks.

What character do you hope readers understand?

Pierson, he struggles throughout the story.

Do you have a favorite part of your own book (s) ?

Yes, but it’s not out yet, so I don’t want to spill the beans.

Choosing a character or even yourself, can you give us a sample playlist of music that would follow said person?

Bruno Mars and Maroon Five’s music inspires me to write for Pierson.

Have you had trouble writing about any of your characters?

For Pierson I had to do some heavy researching just so I make sure I get his struggles correct.

What would you like readers to get from your book (s) ? .

They deal with real life stuff and no matter what you can come out on the other side.

In your book (s) what had been the hardest challenge you’ve faced so far?

Getting Pierson’s character right. He deals with some issues and I had to research to make sure I did his character justice.

How is this world a better place because of your books?

The story is real, raw and emotional and you I think it will stay with a lot of people long after they read it.

If you could meet any of your own characters, who would (they / it) be?

Ruby

What do you to for marketing?

Facebook and bloggers.

Promote your books in a sentence or less 🙂

A tortured hero comes comes home after being away for five years, back to his first love. Will she forgive him for leaving in the first place?

What are you working on now?

Book Two, I haven’t worked out all the logistics but I have about two thousand words down so far.
