Chocolate ice cream dripped from her chin,
Laughter escaped her lips turning into a melody
And sweet smiles surfaced.
The sun shining above her raven hair,
Holding hands as happiness circled them,
“Mommy look at the monkeys.”
Children raced around, birds soared in the sky
Her joy was beyond compare, it was capable of
Breaking the hardest of hearts.
The hope in her eyes made bones shiver,
Oceans moved and stars fell with one look.
Skipping rope and singing songs
Round and round they sang before
They all fell down.
Side by side her dark eyes filled a mother’s heart
With so much love.
“Mommy, mommy, mommy.”
The lion roared, the excitement rose
From a beast to a child
It was all the same.
