The Edge of Darkness is a good and intriguing read. I thought the overall plot was well written, it certainly had a few surprises mixed in! There also were characters I got sucked into. Some of them made me wonder what the hell was going on. In the end it kept me coming back for more. I looked forward to getting to the bottom of all the lies and mysteries.
The dynamic between characters and the relationships in this book are all over the place. All good though! Melissa just has a range of different connections present. Some puzzle you, others anger you, some make you giggle and so forth. There is a really good range featured in this book. I enjoyed that because even when the plot kept its pace the relationships always added that extra bit of spice.
Oddly enough the ending was my favourite part. Not because it ended but how it ended. It allows you to get some closure and at the same time, Melissa leaves it in a way that has you curious for the sequel. You want to know what will happen and what the future holds for these characters you’ve gotten to know.
As for the sequel, I’m going to be reading it. 🙂
