So where do I begin? I’ve never
read listened to a book like this before. I put off ever using Audible because I hated the memory I have of listening to someone read a book to me. I fell asleep during class, got a dentition and still ended the class having read farther. Now that aside this experience was way better, with a fantastic book and with the right cast.
I enjoyed this book so much! I listened to it right till it finished, dying know what would happen next. It’s full of emotion that is brought out through the writing and inside yourself. There’s some themes and tropes that rip you right through the heart. You just can’t put the book down!
Oh my goodness, it hurt to read sometimes, because you start to really care about what these little babes are dealing with. You just want a happy ending for them all even if they needed a helping smack upside the head a couple times.
This book features four main characters all with their own stories. It’s a random site note but I liked the addition of four instead of the usual three we often find ourselves reading about. This time we get a little extra gift and considering the roller coaster ride we get on in Hot Mess, I’ll take it! Haha.
There’s also the cover of this book which I like very much. It really fits the story and the mess you find yourself in along with the characters. It’s not to be taken as lightly though! There’s a lot of theme’s and interactions that are heavy in this book. It made me as a reader though very happy to sit back and watch it play out. I am super excited to read what happens next in the future of this series, even if my heart can’t take it.
Blurb: Anna McCormick seems like a cliché from her basic coffee orders to her relentless drama; however she is more than meets the eye. Join the journey of Anna and Trevor Sullivan through the laughs, tears and heartbreak. Meet the Clairetown crew – each character is more interesting than the next!
Warning: you may not be able to put this book down!
Anna McCormick is every girl after a break up- she is vulnerable and seeks attention in the wrong places. She is easy to love and hate at the same time. Trevor Sullivan is almost too good to be true. He seems like he is perfect on the surface, but there is much more to him than meets the eye. Benji Shaw is the “perfect” boy next door. He has a bit of a hero complex and wants to fix everyone’s problems. Tanya Rosen is the quintessential popular girl- everyone thinks she has so much confidence but really she is just as insecure as the next girl.
The book takes an unexpected turn and I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
